The New Year 2015 seems to have begun with blessings for two of India’s leading tech companies, Wipro and HCL Technologies, which have accelerated the year beginning with multi-million dollar deals.
Wipro has bagged close to half a billion dollar deal from ABB, which is a Zurich based power & automation tech giant. This is remarkable because it is one of the largest wins of Wipro, after it achieved the $1.2 billion deal from the Canada based Atco, a logistic & utilities services provider, last year.
The earlier Atco deal will be brining $112 million revenues annually to the company for next ten years; hence it was the largest in the history then.
Besides, HCL reportedly bagged $200 million that is a Rs 1,200 crore deal for IT outsourcing from Anthem, which is a US based health insurance plan providing company and was earlier named as WellPoint. At present, Anthem serves almost 69 million people via its affiliated firms.
However, both Wipro and HCL have not released any statement on the deals.
According to reports, HCL has surpassed Cognizant for the five year deal comprising infrastructure management services (IMS), user profiling and remote desktop management.
Some year ago, both IBM and Cognizant won IMS and data warehousing contracts respectively from then known WellPoint.
